James, the apostle, wrote:
"Now listen, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.' Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, 'If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that.' "
We do not even know what will happen tomorrow...but that is okay. If we have believed on Jesus and received eternal life...we have no need to know all the future details of our existence here. If we have been assured of our eternal salvation we can rest in Him and take each day as part of a grand adventure. We don't need fortune tellers...we already know enough.
We know that we are on an adventuress path paved with a mix of challenges, troubles, and times of refreshing, joys and sorrows leading to a glorious ultimate connection with the Lord of lords. Each day is filled with some surprises...would we want it any other way?
We can all live with some uncertainty. What I can't live without is the ONE who gives us hope, love and mercy as I navigate thru the unknown challenges of everyday. Therein lies peace.
