An Encouraging Word
When I think of peace, this song comes to my mind:
Peace, peace, wonderful peace,
Coming down from the Father above!
Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray
In fathomless billows of love!
Oh what peace we can have because of the love of the Father. In this day and age it is difficult to have peace. If we focus on the things of the world and what is going on, we cannot have peace. We must keep focused on Jesus. He is where real peace comes from. We must give our cares and concerns to Him. Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
One of the verses of this song is:
I am resting tonight in this wonderful peace,
Resting sweetly in Jesus’ control;
For I’m kept from all danger by night and by day,
And His glory is flooding my soul!
