An Encouraging Word

Joy

Posted on

Romans 15:13 says, May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Just recently I made an offer to buy a house. Seeking God’s will and not my own, I chose not to get excited until I knew this was actually going to happen. I’ve been down this road before. I paid to have an inspection done to make sure there were no major repairs that would need to be made. With that inspection, it was discovered that there was water leakage in the finished basement. God had my back and because my agent suggested doing an inspection I did not walk into a situation blindly where I would have to pay high repairs to take care of the leak. I walked away from this house, praising God, full of His joy and with a great deal of relief.

We can have joy if we will only put our trust in the Lord. Because of the shed blood of Jesus Christ our past has been erased. He remembers it no more. Our future is bright because it is in His hands. He knows the beginning from the end. He knows what is going to happen tomorrow and on down the road. The end results, if you are a born again Christian, is that you will spend eternity with Him.

So what happens in-between is in His hands if we give it to Him. He will work it out to our good (Romans 8:28). Give all to Him and trust Him and walk out the rest of your days in joy. The Holy Spirit will fill us with joy, peace and hope. Spend time with the Lord and study the Word. His presence will surround you. He will lead you and guide you. There is nothing better than being in the will of God. When we do His will He gives us His joy, peace and hope. His love will sustain us and be with us no matter what we face in life. We can live out our days in joy.
