You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.   (Isaiah 26:3 NKJV)

We are still in the season of spring. Spring is my favorite time of the year for many reasons. I love   watching the flowers grow on the ground and the leaves grow on the trees. But, even during this season we are in, there are many storms that come and go.

In our individual lives, we also go through the seasons of life. I have been to weddings and funerals in the same week. You can never know when a storm is coming into your life. Life storms are sudden and unexpected.

In our personal lives, we have experienced hundreds of storms, but 9 months ago, we experienced the storm of our life. My wife and I came home from leading a STORM Street Outreach, to find our only son, which was 19 years old, dead from a gunshot wound to the stomach.

Although we are still very much hurt and grieving for our son we have found that it is possible to have peace in the storm. We have found that there truly is a peace that passes all understanding.

That peace is possible in the storm when we choose to keep our minds on God, knowing that He is the anchor in the storm. We must always realize that He alone is God and that He is the all-knowing, all powerful God, and He works all things together for good.

The last of the verse tells us that He gives us peace, because we trust in Him. The bible tells us to trust in The Lord with ALL our heart. We are not supposed to try to figure it all out or try to lean upon our own understanding. He calls us in the storms of life to trust Him, lean upon Him, acknowledge Him, call upon him, and cast all our worries, hurts, pain, and disappointments upon Him and He will direct our paths.

I don't know what storm you are currently in right now but, I challenge you to apply the opening verse to your life and you will find out like we are that He gives perfect peace in the storm.
