The
Nicholas Hoyer Sportsclub
Located at 64
E. McMicken, the Sportsclub offers a meeting room with pool table,
PC lab, computer games, board games, basketball court and toys for
area children. The youth also host social events with other ministries
at NHS, and participate in basketball tournaments. The Sportsclub
is open each weekday and on Saturdays with extended summer hours.
Annually, the Sportsclub benefits over 200 different children and
youth from the Over-the-Rhine Community.
Bible studies
are held four times per week for youth and children. Sports, activities,
and field trips are offered on weekends year-round with additional
programming throughout the summer. The children have enjoyed field
trips to Six Flags, Sea World, COSI, Kings Island and other attractions.
Pastor Al Mosley,
Director of The Nicholas Hoyer Sportsclub, has been the director since
opening the doors in 1994. Kids who have stayed in the program have
gone on to graduate from high school and some have gone on to college.
Chances are very good that once kids get involved in the Sportsclub
it will improve their chances of staying in and graduating from high
school.
